“Our marriage needed CPR.”

We drove over 240 miles to this retreat with great expectation of what God would do in and through us. The journey to Mandeville was quiet as we didn’t have much to say to each other. On arriving we observed the environment and the other couples in attendance. We were instructed to look into each other eyes when speaking and to hold hands while walking together. It was a great challenge as I felt no connection with my husband. How could I sit and hold hands all this time?

I believed my deliverance came as we did the breakout session Saturday morning, husbands gathered separately from the wives. In this session, the wives were very interactive and participated well, we spoke openly about our struggles and difficult experiences. It was very liberating sharing and realizing challenges were similar. A bond was made between the wives. This was God’s word in action in

Revelation 12:11 - And they overcome him by the power of the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they lived not their lives unto death.

I became so comfortable after this session, Howard and I felt a renewed bond forming in our relationship. What sealed it for me, was Sunday morning when Pastor Errington spoke about ‘LEAVE AND CLEAVE - The Bond’. We learned how destructive it is when we hold onto past intimate relationships and families of origin bonds: mother, father, siblings, etc. This really means; a apart of us is still with the past relationships that must be totally severed in order to truly leave and cleave to our spouses to allow ONENESS in our marriage to take place.

It was alot of information given in the three (3) days of teaching and I am so very appreciative of this ministry.

As we traveled back home, we chatted, conversing all the way home, I fell asleep at one point, woke up and Howard was still speaking so I jumped back in the conversation.

Persons we encountered since are noticing the positive change between us and the unity. We are forever grateful.
